On the morning of September 28, the first section of Tianjin’s suburban railway, the Jinghai Line, co-constructed by China Railway No.8 Engineering Group, officially opened for operation. This marks the launch of Tianjin’s first suburban railway, connecting the central urban area of Tianjin to the Jinghai district.
The first section of the Jinghai Line spans approximately 13.4 kilometers, starting in the south at Tuanbo Medical Park Station and connecting in the north to Jinghua East Road Station on Metro Line 5. It includes three stations: Tuanbo Medical Park, Tuanbo Health City, and Jingwu Station.
With the completion and opening of the first section of the Jinghai Line and its seamless transfer to Metro Line 5, this is the first time Tianjin’s suburban railway has been integrated with the metro system. The new line effectively connects Tianjin’s central urban area with the suburban districts of Jinghai and Xiqing, providing a more convenient commuting option for residents. It also plays a significant role in boosting economic and social development along the route and supporting the coordinated development of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region.
