The first passage of the Ulaanbaatar Railway Underpass Project in the capital of Mongolia, constructed by China TIESIJU Civil Engineering Group under CREC, has been officially completed and opened to traffic.
The Ulaanbaatar Railway Underpass Project is a key initiative under the high-level strategic cooperation between the two countries, aligning the ¡°Belt and Road¡± Initiative with Mongolia's "Steppe Road" development strategy. The project is financed by a concessional loan from the Export-Import Bank of China. The construction includes four underpasses beneath the railway, with a standard design of 20-meter-wide, two-way, four-lane roads, aimed at alleviating traffic congestion caused by railway-road intersections in Ulaanbaatar.
The first passage has a mainline length of 651.66 meters. The vehicle passage through the underpass adopts a box culvert structure, divided into two sections, with lengths of 136 meters and 169 meters, respectively, and a crossing angle of 27°8¡ä with the railway.
