The cold sliding test of the overhead contact line project for the newly constructed Nanning-Yulin Railway, co-built by China Railway Electrification Engineering Group and China Railway No.3 Engineering Group, was successfully completed, laying the foundation for the next steps of full-line electrification and integrated commissioning and testing.
A cold sliding test refers to a dynamic inspection of the overhead contact line conducted by sliding the pantograph of a locomotive across the line without electricity. This test ensures that actual parameters meet design and acceptance standards, eliminating any potential quality and safety issues before powering up and conducting hot sliding tests.
The cold sliding test covered the section from Nanning East (excluding) to Yulin North (including), with a mainline length of approximately 190 kilometers.
The Nanning-Yulin Railway is the first high-speed railway in Guangxi Province to be independently funded, with a designed speed of 350 km/h. Once completed and operational, the travel time between Nanning and Yulin will be reduced from the current fastest time of 1 hour and 44 minutes to about 50 minutes. This will help Guangxi Province achieve its goal of connecting every city by high-speed rail.
