On September 9, China's first domestically produced large-diameter, high-inclination inclined shaft TBM (Tunnel Boring Machine) "Yongning," jointly developed by CREC's subsidiary China Railway Engineering Equipment Group, State Grid Xinyuan Luoning Company, and Sinohydro Bureau 6, successfully completed the precise tunneling of the No. 2 water diversion inclined shaft. This marks the full connection of two key water diversion inclined shafts at the Luoning Pumped Storage Power Station, setting a new mechanized construction record in China's pumped storage power station sector, and successfully applying a new mechanized full-section excavation model for inclined shafts.
The No. 2 water diversion inclined shaft was tunneled upwards at an angle of 38.742 degrees, with a total length of approximately 873 meters, of which the TBM bored 860 meters. "Yongning" TBM began excavation on April 25. During the process, it achieved a daily tunneling record of 22.75 meters and a monthly record of 332 meters, breaking the domestic speed record for inclined shaft TBM tunneling.
